Raising Digital Natives: Teaching Responsible Tech Use at Merubrook
Our students are growing up in a digital world. At Merubrook, we see technology not just as a tool, but as a new literacy that requires guidance. Our approach to digital citizenship is integrated across all grade levels.
So, what does “Digital Citizenship” look like at our school?
- For Lower Primary: Learning the basics of online safety, understanding screen time limits, and using educational apps collaboratively.
- For Upper Primary & Junior School: Practicing effective online research, understanding digital footprints, and learning about cyberbullying prevention.
- For Senior School: Focusing on media literacy, identifying misinformation, and using digital tools for creative projects and ethical communication.
We partner with parents through workshops and resources to ensure the lessons of responsible tech use are reinforced at home. It’s about empowering our students to be not just consumers of technology, but wise and critical users of it.
